We're taking part in Leeds for All - International Day of Disabled People 2021

The Leeds for All week of events is tailored to disabled people - but open to all! Climate Action Leeds sessions are on Tuesday 30 Nov and Friday 3rd December.

There's comedy, craft, dancing and much much more. You can help by promoting this fantastic celebration to anyone with autism, learning disabilities, visual impairments, hearing loss, or physical disabilities and their families, friends and carers.

The fun, interesting and unique events start on Monday 29 November 2021 and end at Leeds City Museum on Friday 3rd December with a big marketplace event and celebration 10am – 3pm.

This week of events has been put on by Forum Central and the many partners involved in the Leeds for All working group. The theme this year is “Leeds for All – Recovery from Covid-19”. All events are free to attend, accessible, and open to everyone.

You can help to promote Leeds For All 2021 by sharing these resources:

Our online session: Tue 30 Nov 12:30 – 13:30

We are running an informal online introductory session to discuss the question "why climate action now?" in a very simple way.

In the hour we will:

  • Explore what it means for you as a disabled person in Leeds, and how you can be part of the solution.

  • Give a short overview of the Climate Action Leeds project.

  • Share inspiration and ideas about how you could be part of the solution.

The session will be delivered in short sections of slide presentations with subtitles, and time for open, non-judgemental discussion in between.

Our in person activity: Fri 3 Dec 12:45 – 13:45

At the Leeds City Museum marketplace event we will have a stall. We will also be running an interactive and creative activity from 12:45 to 1:45pm which will be supported by a British Sign Language translator.

This is an opportunity to learn more about the climate emergency, how it’s affecting the world we live in, and what you can do to help. As well as have chance to ask questions about Climate Action Leeds.

We look forward to seeing you there!
