Key climate themes

Between 2020 and 2025, the CAL Partnership was supported by contributions from groups and individuals with expertise on particular aspects of climate change. 

Click through the logos some of the key resources and outcomes from their work, as well as links to organisations which continue to push for positive change across these different areas.

Climate Justice

Firstly the Racial Justice Network, and latterly Claude Hendrickson MBE, provided crucial knowledge and insight on complex, sensitive, and crucial topics such as climate justice, equity, and bias. More details coming soon.

Housing & Energy

As well as events, projects, producing resources, CAL also saw the creation of Leeds Community Energy network, which continues to bring together experts, activists and anyone interested in alternative energy solutions for communities.

Transport

Working with Leeds Bike Mill to explore how we can reduce the environmental impact of transport in Leeds, from lower-carbon options to contributing to research and planning for the city. More details to follow.

Youth & Education

Leeds DEC (now Global Learning Leeds) ran a series of highly successful events for school leaders, teachers, and children, recognising the great work being done by education professionals and pupils locally.

FoodWise Leeds delivered events, organised new projects and helped to shape the food strategy for the city.
