Climate Action Leeds Independent Scrutiny Panel - Members Wanted

Climate Action Leeds are seeking panel members to support with its’ Independent Scrutiny Panel.

The Independent Scrutiny Panel (ISP) is an independent group, with an independent Chair, who will advise, scrutinise, and challenge the Climate Action Leeds program in the development and implementation of programme plans.

The ISP is an annual meeting, convened by Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) and will, at a minimum, include reports on implementation and progress towards program outcomes, summary of key program learning, any areas where staff would welcome outside/additional perspectives, wider engagement/communication of the program and success stories/case studies.

We’re seeking members from a diverse range of backgrounds, including an interest in climate action, a passion for working towards climate justice, knowledge of community engagement or lived experience of climate impacts or marginalisation.



Tasks

  • To provide constructive feedback on the programmes’ community-led climate action

  • To actively monitor progress and provide feedback/challenge, from a community/partner perspective, against agreed wider programme outcomes

  • To make recommendations aimed at improving/developing the programme

  • To monitor diversity within the project

Role

  • To take part in a briefing session on Thursday 11th November, 1pm-2:30pm

  • To read the papers prepared by the Climate Action Leeds team ahead of the panel meeting

  • To take part in the panel meeting, 1:30pm-4:30pm on Thursday 18th November
