Many Yeses Invitation

The Leeds Doughnut Coalition Presents: Cultivating a network of "Many Yeses"

Tired of focusing on what we can’t do about the challenges we face? What if we shifted our focus? What if we celebrated the positive actions already happening in our community?

Join the Leeds Doughnut Coalition for a series of exciting events shining a spotlight on the good work happening right here in Leeds! We want to celebrate and grow these positive actions, working together to build a sustainable and equitable future for all.

Inspired by Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics, this series of talks, workshops and discussions will explore some key ingredients for a healthy planet and happy people:

  • Nurturing human nature – how can we recognise our social and ecological interdependence?

  • Changing the goal – what brings us joy, purpose and connection?

  • Seeing the big picture – how are the challenges we face interconnected?

  • Getting savvy with systems - how can understanding how things work help us create positive change?

  • Designing to distribute – how can we ensure everyone has what they need?

  • Creating to regenerate - how can we make our ecosystems thrive?

  • Being agnostic about growth – how can we focus on wellbeing for everyone, not just growing the economy?

Each event will focus on one of these themes, featuring inspiring keynote speakers with unique perspectives and experiences to share. The events will be highly participatory, moving beyond one-way information flow to encourage dialogue, shared learning and the emergence of new ideas. Expect engaging exercises, open discussions and opportunities to connect with like-minded people and organisations. And yes, there will be delicious food!

We look forward to welcoming you!
