Style like you mean it: Leeds hosts International Circular Fashion Week

From 21-22 May at The Knowledge Exchange, Leeds Beckett University, the International Circular Fashion Week Conference is set to be "a ground-breaking event in the world of sustainable fashion", according to the local designer behind it.
This two-day conference will bring together industry professionals, thought leaders, and emerging designers to explore innovative approaches to circularity in fashion.
The event has been organised by Andrea Benahmed Djilali, an award-winning slow fashion designer and founder of Circular Fashion Incubator CIC.
In Andrea's own words: "The global fashion industry is at a turning point. As the devastating impact of fast fashion becomes increasingly evident, designers, activists, and educators are stepping forward to create solutions that prioritise sustainability and circularity."
Among Andrea’s other projects is the Little Circular Fashion Designer Academy, a unique initiative aimed at children aged nine and above.
Andrea says: "Designed to spark creativity while instilling an understanding of sustainable fashion, the academy provides hands-on workshops in upcycling, textile repurposing, and conscious design thinking. By teaching young minds to see value in discarded materials, the academy nurtures future innovators who will shape a fashion industry that respects both people and the planet."
