About the Event

Across Leeds there are a range of community groups, campaign groups and third sector organisations doing fantastic work towards the creation of a car free Leeds. That is, a city which is not dependent on cars, and where everyone has safe, affordable and accessible transport options.

This event is an opportunity for those groups to come together and share their successes, challenges and opportunities, and support each other in their work.

Whether your group looks at active travel, air quality or car reduction, and whether you are experienced in the field, or just setting out on your car free journey, we invite you to showcase your project, share your ideas, and learn from the experience of others.

After the showcase, there will be smaller group discussions on specific topics put forward by those present, to delve into problem solving together.

We hope that attendees will make new connections, find collaborators, and learn more about local initiatives for active travel, air pollution and car reduction.

We want you to share your wisdom with others and leave inspired!

Join us from 9.30am for a breakfast of coffee and pastries, the session will start at 10am.

We will update this description as speakers are confirmed - if you would like to showcase your group's work, or an idea that you want support with, please contact the organiser.

Getting here + Access:

Since it's car free day, we wholeheartedly encourage attendees to travel to the event without a car if they are able. Imagine Leeds is a 5 minute walk/wheel from Leeds Train Station, and well served by bus stops on Boar Lane ('Station' and 'Trinity' stops) and Park Row ('City Square' stops).

If arriving by bike or scooter, you can bring your wheels up to the 7th floor and lock up in the lobby, or park at the nearby Trinity Bike Park - just seconds from the door to City Exchange.

A city centre parking map for Blue Badge holders is available here. Search 'Imagine Leeds' to show the venue in the centre of the map.

The City Exchange building has a level entrance from the street, and there is a lift to the 7th floor. Once there, the space is all on one level.

Toilets, including an accessible toilet are available on the 6th floor, accessed by a lift or stairs.
